It was a bloody weekend in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, as four persons were shot and killed in what the police have confirmed to be gang-related activities.

The police have since deployed a number of security personnel to the community to try and curb the violence.

In the latest incident, Shakiel Forrest, who is of a Grange Hill address, was ambushed by heavily armed man as he drove through the near Little London community about 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Forrest and another man was travelling with him jumped from the vehicle and ran. However, Forrest was chased down and shot multiple time. He died on the spot.

His death comes in the wake of Saturday’s shooting, during which marauding gangsters invaded a section of the Grange Hill community, killing three men and injuring another.

Superintendent Shaunjaye Mitchell, the commander for Zone Four in the Westmoreland Police Division, said that the shootings are because of a spiralling feud between the resurgent King Valley and Ants Posse gangs.

Indications are that they are fighting for turf control and the spoils from illicit criminal activities.

The King Valley gang surged to national prominence in 2020 when several members of the gang were arrested in a major CTOC operation.

They were charged with being a part of a criminal organization. The Gang’s leader, Durval ‘Lukie’ Williams was subsequently convicted and is now serving time in prison.
