A Westmoreland woman who could not be located after her employees gave her nearly $1 million to deposit in a bank account, turned herself into the police after she was featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force's 'Wanted Wednesday' platform.

The 29-year-old woman, who was seemingly employed under the name Tanya Lewis, but whose given name is Crestida Lewis, is reportedly of a New Building address in Naine, Westmoreland. When Lewis turned herself in to the Westmoreland police, she reportedly did so without the money and was arrested and charged with larceny as a servant. She remains in custody pending her first court appearance.

According to the allegation against Lewis, on a date that was not disclosed, Lewis, who was employed in the parish as a cashier, was given $900,000 to lodge to an account. However, the money was not lodged.

The matter was reported to the police but after many failed attempts to locate her, she was featured on Wanted Wednesday, where a photograph of her was posted. Within hours of the social media post, she surrendered to the police and was arrested and charged.

Lewis is slated to make her first appearance in the Savanna-la-Mar Parish Court on April 23.
