A counselling report was requested for a Corporate Area man, who punched his girlfriend in her head, following an argument about her role as a parent to his children.

The details were shared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last week, when the defendant Zephaniah Henry pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault at common law. Prosecutors contend that the incident happened on March 25, at the premises Henry and the complainant share.

"We had a little disagreement and me a tell her say my kids never had a mother figure in their life. After the argument, me go lay down and me still a hear bare noise noise in the house and me get up and talk to her bout it. She chuck me and me just tump her in her head," Henry confessed to Chief Parish Judge Chester Crooks.

"Are you still together?" Crooks queried.

"Yes Your Honour," the defendant replied.

The complainant, however, was not present in court and a subpoena was issued for her attendance at the next court date. Crooks also requested that a community report be prepared to assist with sentencing, which was postponed until July 9.
