Shooting incident at Ocho Rios High leaves schoolgirl injured

A 12-year-old female student of Ocho Rios High School in St Ann is now in hospital following a shooting incident at the school on Monday.

The police say her condition is serious but stable.

It is reported that a male student took a pistol to school and was showing the weapon to classmates when the incident happened.

The gun was reportedly being passed around and one student pulled the trigger, releasing a shot that hit the female student.

The female student was reportedly not among the group examining the weapon.
