Police identify masked man seen in video threatening Holness
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey says the police have identified the masked man seen in a viral video threatening Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his wife Juliet.
Speaking at a media briefing on Wednesday morning, Bailey said the suspect has been on the police’s radar and efforts are now being made to arrest him.
On Sunday, a mass shooting in Cherry Tree Lane, Four Paths, Clarendon, claimed eight lives and left 10 people injured.
At a press conference on Monday, the prime minister announced an 'all-out assault' on gangs even as investigators probe the massacre.
On Tuesday, a video of a person wearing a mask surfaced. The individual had derogatory words for the prime minister as he scoffed at his statements, and hinted that he and his spouse would meet a similar demise.
"Yow... Holness, yuh think you can stop mass killing? Everybody inna Clarendon ago dead by next week. A yuh and yuh wife next ... ," the person stated.
The video, which was uploaded on social media, has been making the rounds, and commentators have urged the security forces to implement a speedy plan to capture the culprit.
