Man charged for pulling gun on another during dispute remanded

A man charged for pulling a gun on another during an argument in Old Harbour was today remanded when he appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court.

Degre Bennett, 46, is charged with breaches of the Firearms Act and assault at common law.

The case against him was transferred to the Gun Court for mention on September 18.

Parish court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle subsequently ordered that a bail application also be transferred.

It is being alleged that on August 21 the complainant and the accused were in Claremont Heights when during a dispute Bennett allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it at him.

The matter was reported to the police and after an investigation, Bennett was arrested and charged.
