'Feather' charged with fatally stabbing man in chest during dispute
A deadly altercation in a Westmoreland community has left one man dead and another facing murder charges following a stabbing that turned fatal earlier this month.
Charged is 31-year-old cabinet maker Shaun Paul Palmer, otherwise called 'Feather,' of Poppy Street.
Dead is 39-year-old construction worker Omar Vanhorne, otherwise called 'Jacko,' of Georges Plain.
Police report that about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, tensions escalated during a dispute when Palmer allegedly used a knife to stab Vanhorne in the chest.
The wounded man was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Lawmen moved swiftly following the incident, arresting Palmer the following day. He was formally charged on Sunday, April 11, after investigators recorded statements from witnesses said to have implicated him in the deadly attack.
Palmer's court date is now being finalised as the case moves forward.
