Overturned trailer truck blocks Flat Bridge

Motorists are being urged to avoid the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine after a crash early Tuesday morning left the roadway at Flat Bridge completely impassable.

Police report that about 6:25 a.m., a trailer truck overturned along the narrow stretch of road, blocking the main thoroughfare through the gorge.

The incident has caused major disruption to traffic flow in the area as the key route remains closed.

Efforts are now underway to clear the scene and reopen the roadway.

In the meantime, motorists are being advised to use alternative routes, including Sligoville, Barry, or the toll road, to bypass the affected area and avoid delays.
