Already mourning the loss of her husband of 10 years, Daniesha Howell is now facing a nightmare--she can't locate his body three weeks after his death.

"My husband passed away over Portmore. He was doing some work over there, but what happened is that they said he fell ill and went to the hospital. He came home, got some medications, but he still wasn't feeling well. He went to lie down in his house and they found him dead. But what I'm saying is, we can't locate the body. We've been calling around [funeral homes] to see if we can find where the body is because we can't find it," Howell told THE S TAR.

The circumstances surrounding 45-year-old Alrick Stanley's death remain a mystery. When contacted, the police's Corporate Communications Network had no information on Stanley. A source mentioned that his body might be at a funeral home, but no formal report was provided.

Head of the St Catherine South Police Division, Deputy Superintendent Michael Campbell, advised, "Direct the family to the Portmore Police Station's sudden death office."

Howell said she received a call in early September about her husband's death, but the timeline is unclear

Stanley, originally from Arnett Gardens, had been living in Portmore, although Howell wasn't sure when he moved there, as they had been separated since 2019.

"We weren't living together, but I feel like it's my responsibility to handle this. He doesn't have any family here--everyone's overseas. I'm also doing it for our kids. They need to see him, to have closure," she said.

Stanley leaves behind three children, aged 17, 14, and 10, all of whom are struggling with the loss.

"It's hard for all of them, not just the 17-year-old, because they haven't seen or been in contact with him in a long while. I guess they'll want to see him one last time," she said.

Despite their separation, Howell is determined to give Stanley a proper farewell.

"He was always friendly and dedicated to his work," she said, still in disbelief over the tragic situation.

"I don't even believe he's gone because I haven't seen him. Everybody's in shock. His family overseas knows, but there's only so much they can do. I just want to find him and give him the burial he deserves," she said.
