Homemade gun seized, 27-y-o man arrested

A 27-year-old-man has been arrested by the St Andrew North police for his alleged connection to a homemade gun with several rounds of ammunition seized yesterday.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Report say that police personnel were on a targeted operation in Belvedere district when the gun and five rounds of 12 gauge cartridges were found during a search of a premises.

The man who occupied the premises was arrested.
