Alleged goat thieves to spend New Year's Day behind bars
Seven men accused of stealing several goat carcasses at an illegal slaughter house in Big Lane, Central Village in St Catherine were remanded when they appeared in court today.
Charged with larceny of cattle and breaches of the Public Health Act are Kemar Isaacs, Omar Thompson, Taveen Bolton, Neville Higgins, Sean Samuels, Andre Henry and Davian McCrae, all from a Kingston or St Catherine address.
They are to remain in custody until January 3, 2025.
Senior Parish Court judge Yvette Wentworth-Miller ordered the men's finger prints to be taken to ascertain if they have any criminal record.
Allegations are that on December 20, police personnel conducted a cross boarder predial larceny intelligence-driven operation near a dump site in community.
The men were caught and taken into custody on suspicion on larceny of cattle.
Formal charges were made after they were questioned in presence of their legal representative.
