Labourer charged with murder
A St Andrew labourer has been arrested for murder following the shooting death of a man allegedly during a phone sale.
Sleuths attached to the St Andrew North Police Division have charged 26-year-old Brandon Ennis, otherwise called 'Twinny', of Belvedere Road, in the December 2 incident. The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Jermaine Francis, otherwise called 'Pluck', of Elliot Avenue, Kingston 8. Reports from the Red Hills police are that at 7:30 p.m., Francis was purchasing a cellular phone from Ennis when Ennis pulled a firearm and opened fire, hitting him. The police were alerted and on their arrival, Francis was seen with gunshot wounds to the head. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Ennis was arrested and later charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorised possession of ammunition following a question-and-answer interview. His court date is being finalised.
