'Addi' fatally shot while running from police in Spanish Town

St Catherine businessman Aidian McIntosh, otherwise called 'Addi', 24, was allegedly shot and killed while running from the police in Eltham Park, Spanish Town yesterday.

Reports say that 3:15 p.m., a police team was patrolling the community when they noticed a group of men in an unfinished house, arousing suspisions.

The police disembarked the marked service vehicle and approached the gathering.

Upon noticing the cops the men ran away in different directions.

It is alleged that Mcintosh, while shouting police, also pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the lawmen.

The police team took evasive action firing at Mcintosh.

A Glock 27 pistol affixed with a magazine containing five rounds 9MM cartridges was allegedly retrieved from Mcintosh.

He was assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police said that McIntosh was a gangster in the parish.

The Independent Commission of Investigations have launched a probe in the matter.
