Several residents of Jobs Lane, Spanish Town in St Catherine staged a peaceful demonstration last night in support of the police's closure of the nine-year-old Kelsey Ferrigon investigation.

According to councilor Theresa Turner-Flynn, the work done by the police must be commended and despite the sordid affair the effort is recognised.

"We have stage this peaceful activity to show our support for effective law enforcement and also to ease the tension in the community from the sad act,"Turner-Flynn said.

The occasion saw several placard-bearing residents along the roadway with writings thanking the cops for a job well done.

Last Friday Ferrigon was found dead inside a barrel at her home along Jobs Lane.

The man responsible for her demise, Giovanni "Coolie Man" Ellis, was later shot and killed in Clarendon by members of the St Catherine North Proactive Investigation Unit during an armed confrontation.
