Two women arrested in connection with St Catherine robberies

Two women who are suspected of being involved in a string of robberies in St Catherine and an illegal firearm found in one of their homes were taken into custody by the St Andrew Central police on Wednesday.

Reports say that about 9:oo p.m., , lawmen acted on information and intercepted a motor car that was allegedly involved in a series of robberies in the parish.

When intercepted, a search of the vehicle and both occupants was conducted.

During the search, $192,700.00 and $175.00 USD were found in the women's possession.

Further checks were made at each of their houses.

At one of the homes the firearm was found under a dresser with an additional $429,800, $12,000 USD and $840.00PS.

The women were arrested and taken into custody.

Both are suspects in a reported case of malicious destruction to property and simple larceny committed in the St Catherine North division.

Their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
