Fairview Park, St Catherine in mourning, 52-y-o man shot dead

The shooting death of a 52-year-old man yesterday has left the Fairview neighborhood outside of Spanish Town, St Catherine, in deep mourning.

The police have identified the deceased as Samuel Reid, a caregiver of Fair Avenue, Fairview Park in the parish.

It has been reported that about 4:50 p.m., residents heard loud explosions and summoned the cops.

Upon arrival Reid was found lying facedown on the roadway suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

He was taken to the Spanish Town Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police have yet to establish a motive in Reid's demise.

Detectives assigned to the Spanish Town police station are conducting an investigation in the matter.
