Clock ticking for Jaii Frais as court orders cops to charge or free him by 6 p.m.
The clock is now ticking for popular vlogger Jhaedee ‘Jaii Frais’ Richards, after a court ruled that police must either charge him or release him by 6 p.m. today in connection with the explosive Big Wall shooting probe.
The order came from the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, following an application by Richards’ attorney, Isat Buchanan, who pushed for his client’s release amid ongoing detention.
Buchanan also revealed that the social media personality is to be taken to hospital for medical treatment, in line with an order issued by the court on Wednesday.
Richards has been in custody since Sunday’s dramatic shooting at the Big Wall after-Carnival party in St Andrew, which left three people injured and sent shockwaves through the entertainment scene.
His detention was extended on Wednesday after police sought more time to question him as part of their ongoing investigation.
Music producer Jahvel ‘Jahvy’ Morrison was also taken into custody in relation to the incident, as investigators continue to piece together what led to the gunfire at the high-profile event.
With the deadline fast approaching, all eyes are now on whether police will lay charges or be forced to release the embattled vlogger as the probe intensifies.
