Champs on course to rural netball title

Defending junior and senior champions, Denbigh High and Holmwood Technical are on course to defend their titles after advancing to the final of the Inter-Secondary School Sports Association (ISSA) schoolgirls' netball competition following the end of second-round action.

The matches will be played on Wednesday at the Manchester High school netball courts starting with junior action with seniors to follow.

The defending champions, Denbigh will go up against Titchfield and Holmwood facing Anchovy High at noon.

Before that, at 10 a.m., home team Manchester High will do battle with Central High with former champions Knox going up against Glenmuir.

After an impressive campaign in the second round, defending champions, Holmwood who have lost most of their players from last year's all-conquering team which went on to win the All-Island title, are expected to move forward when they tackle St Elizabeth Technical at one o'clock.

Titchfield will be in action against Frome Technical at the same time. Preceding these games at 11 a.m. will be Denbigh against Knox and Manchester High against Edwin Allen.
