Former St Jago High School and University of Technology athlete, Venicha Baker, was among Jamaican standouts for Victor 'Poppy' Thomas-coached Lincoln University track and field team at the Crimson & Gold Invitational Meet in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Baker was named first women's track athlete of the week, for the 2015-16 season, after setting three of the nation's top times in winning the 200 metres in 24.31 and 400 metres in 55.24 seconds.

She joined former Vere Technical athlete, Shanice Clarke, former St Jago High athlete, Jhevere Hall and former Dinthill Technical standout, Willomena Williams, on Lincoln's 4x400 metres relay squad, which won the event in 3:45.48.

All three times are provisional qualifiers for the NCAA Championships and were the fastest in Division Two during the first week of the season.
