Harbour View manager Oneal Johnson said he was pleasantly surprised by the turnout of fans for the team's win against champions Montego Bay United last weekend, breaking a wretched run at home.

Harbour View have been struggling for form all season, especially at home. Last week, Johnson said part of the reason was that the club needed fans to make their voices heard more loudly at games.

Sitting just two spots shy of the sixth and final play-off spot, Johnson made a rallying cry for fans in the surrounding communities to come out and spur Harbour View to victory.

It seemed to work as a packed house watch Harbour View pick up a 1-0 win over the defending league champions.

"I think persons just wanted to be reminded that we are here and we are a part of the community," he told STAR Sports. "It's important for the players to feel the energy of the 12th man.

"I was worried that due to the inclement weather the island was experiencing, supporter turnout would have been low. Fortunately, this was not the case. Supporters came out in their numbers to cheer for their team, which, no doubt, contributed to our victory."

Harbour View are still eighth but moved to 33 points, still eight behind sixth-place Arnett Gardens. They travel to Spanish Town Prison Oval, facing Portmore United on Sunday, before returning to Compound two weeks later, where they will face leaders UWI.
