Hosanna Prep gets multi-purpose facilities
The Hosanna Preparatory School in Montego Bay, St James, is the beneficiary of new multipurpose sports facilities valued at $5 million.
Businessman Anthony Hart, who donated the facilities, which include a football field and a netball court as well as a ping-pong table, is hoping that the institution can now build a sports programme to complement its already notable academic quality.
Hart, in collaboration with Doctor's Cave Beach Club, financed the construction of the new facilities, which were built by Dujon Construction Limited, headed by Deon Dujon.
"The facility's availability is very important because this school was doing so well academically but did not have the back-up of sports. So we gave them a ping-pong table. Mr Dujon built these two fields, and now the students have a sports programme," said Hart.
Doreth Chambers, the school's principal, thanked Hart for the gift of the new sports facility.
"We need people who are capable, bold, and willing to sow seeds of kindness. Fortunately for us here at Hosanna Preparatory, we have Mr Hart ... . He is always giving, especially to schools, and he is the heartbeat behind this venture and has the heart of a champion," said Chambers.
