Quarter-miler Demish Gaye said that he has figured out what is preventing him from landing a medal at major world games and he is on a mission to correct it this season.

Gaye, who had a break-out season last year with numerous sub-45 seconds runs, finished sixth in the 400m final at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in London last year.

He also finished fourth in the event at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia.

"It is just execution that is preventing me from jumping into that top-three spot. I have to execute on the day, but I am not going to kill myself. I have a lot of time to fix that," Gaye said in a recent interview with STAR Sports.

Gaye, who has been confirmed to run at the 15th staging of the Jamaica International Invitational on May 19 at the National Stadium, said that he will be using the rest of the season to perfect his race execution and to lower his personal best.
