Veteran coach Vassell Reynolds said he is currently in negotiations with Reno FC to become the head coach of the Red Stripe Premier League outfit.

Reynolds took charge of the Westmoreland-based club for the final round of last season's competition, following the departure of the head coach Michael Graham, who left the island.

Reynolds told STAR Sports that discussions with the club's hierarchy have been progressing well and an announcement will be made very shortly.

"Everyone who is a coach wants always aspire to coach at the highest level, and the highest in terms of club football in the country is the Premier League. It helps to elevate your knowledge, so I always want to be a part of a premier league set-up," said Reynolds.

"I'm almost certain that they will be planning and meeting very soon, but I have been having dialogue with members of the club in terms of the direction of coaching," Reynolds said.

Reno finished 10th in last season's Premier League competition and Reynolds believes that he is the man to turn around the club's fortunes next season.

"I think that based on what we would have achieved last year, when I stepped in, I think I have some amount to contribute in terms of the organisation of the team," said Reynolds.

Reynolds, who had a short stint with Premier League outfit Humble Lion in 2016, guided Rusea's to last year's ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup title.
