Moneybags Mount Pleasant Football Academy increased their riches last Friday when they added to their collection of talent with the signing of forward Jourdaine Fletcher.

The 21-year-old, who distinguished himself as a schoolboy at Cornwall College, where he formed a telepathic partnership with Peter-Lee Vassell, will become the third player from Montego Bay United to join Mount Pleasant. Fletcher's acquisition was confirmed by coach Donovan Duckie on Saturday.

"Jourdaine Fletcher is now our player and he could be in contention. The deal was completed yesterday," Duckie said.

Fletcher is expected to add some punch to Mount Pleasant's attacking department, especially on the goalscoring front. Despite spending heavily in the first transfer window, Mount Pleasant found goalscoring difficult to come by, scoring just 18 goals in their 23 matches thus far, with only FC Reno and Montego Bay United with 15 and 16 goals, respectively, scoring fewer.

Of that number, the veteran Devon Hodges and Kemar Beckford have four each, Suelae McCalla, three, while Cardel Benbow and Daniel Green have two each.
