With nine matches left to be played in the regular season of the 2019 Red Stripe Premier League, Harbour View FC head coach Fabian Taylor has almost come to the conclusion that his side will not make the play-offs.

The Stars of the East fought hard to lift themselves from the relegation zone and are now sitting in ninth position with 25 points.

But Taylor believes that a run for the top six is a pipe dream and that his side is still fighting a relegation battle.

"If you look, we are closer to the bottom than we are to the top six," he said. "The reality is we are fighting a relegation battle and I am confident that we can win that battle."

Harbour View found themselves in uncharted waters when they only managed to win two of their first 10 games of the season and were thrust to the bottom of the table.

So unfamiliar was the situation, then head coach Ricardo Gardner quit his position on December 10.

Taylor has taken charge of the team since and they have only lost three of the eight games they have played.

"We still have a long way to go and a lot of points to play for, but we believe that we can win this relegation battle," he said.

Though things have started to look up for Taylor's charges, they have been faced with another unfamiliar situation--losing at home.

They have won just once at home this season.

"That is something we have to change soon. We were never a team to lose at home but it has started to happen and we have to work to change it," Taylor explained.

Harbour View are scheduled to play Waterhouse in the next fixture at home.
