Christian settled at Dunbeholden

Dunbeholden's Nickoy Christian says he is hoping to end his career with the St Catherine-based outfit in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) competition.

Christian, 30, has flourished in the competition this season with a league leading seven assists.

He has previously played for Tivoli Gardens, Cavalier, Humble Lion, Portmore United, and Harbour View before joining two seasons ago.

"I think this is my home now because the people in the community really welcome me and they have been showing me a lot of love and respect," he said.

"I have been playing with a lot of confidence here and I feel like I am going to end my career locally with Dunbeholden."

His performance in the JPL has helped Dunbeholden to second place with 19 points from nine games. Waterhouse lead the standings with 20 points.

Christian says Dunbeholden is strong this season and is confident the club can win the title.

"We are here to compete and not to participate, and we have a stronger group than last season and I think we have the quality players to win the league this season," he said. "However, we just have to stick together as a team and continue to work hard at our game and the results will come.

"We are happy with where we are because the leaders are just one point ahead of us but that can change any time, so we just have to be focused and take this thing one game at a time."
