Edwin Allen High School sprinter Bryan Levell will face off against American Jordan Anthony over 100m at the East Coast International Showcase in Landover, Maryland, on Saturday.

Levell has a season's best of 10.25 seconds while Anthony's is timed at 10.14.

But Levell's aim on Saturday is to lower his personal best of 10.21.

"I haven't trained a lot over the past weeks due to the rain, but I know that I can handle this event," he told STAR Sports. "I just plan to go out there and execute a proper race and, hopefully, I can come out with a personal best time."

Another interesting matchup on the cards is Brianna Lyston of Hydel High School, who is the fastest Jamaican junior in the 100m this season, up against American Indoor 60m junior record holder Shawnti Jackson over 100m.

Lyston, who also won 200m gold at the Carifta Games last month, broke the Class One record for the half lap event at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships, clocking 22.53.

Her schoolmate Kerrica Hill, the second fastest Jamaican junior over 100m this year with a time of 11.16, is also down to compete in the race.

"It is going to be really exciting because it has turned out much better than we thought it would be," Puma Sports Marketing Manager Juliet Campbell said. "Everything is in place, the sponsorships and marketing part of it, and I could not have done it without Sanjay Ayre because he is there in Baltimore and I am elsewhere trying to finish up my work while still trying to get everything organised for the meet.

"Several schools are already there in Baltimore, which we are housing and taking care of free of cost, and schools have no cost at all to them, so we are taking care of everything that is happening this year."

The events that are down to be contested at the meet are the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, throws and jumps.

The other schools that are down to compete at the meet are Kingston College, St Elizabeth Technical, St Jago, and Excelsior.
