Former national player Omar Cummings believes activities are picking for Sunday's Reggae Boyz Concacaf Gold Cup quarter-final clash against Guatemala at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Cummings, who lives 15 minutes drive from the venue, contends that the excitement will ignite for the 4 p.m. start of the match, which is a precursor to the clash between the United States of America (USA) and archrivals Canada at 6:30 p.m.

"I can say that there is definitely a buzz around this weekend. The stadium will be rocking, especially for the second game, but I think our team has been growing in confidence, and for the most part they look relaxed," said Cummings.

The 40-year-old, who made 35 appearances for the Reggae Boyz and scored seven goals between 2008 and 2012, believes the confidence being displayed by the Reggae Boyz will come against Guatemala as they make their bid for another semi-final berth and ultimately the final, which they went to in 2015 and 2017.

"I think this team can go all the way, especially that either Canada or the USA will be eliminated."

Cummings also believes that the Reggae Boyz's strong roster does well for coach Heimir Hallgrimsson, who has multiple attacking options, which has brought a record for the Reggae Boyz of 10 goals being scored in the group stage of the Gold Cup.

The former FC Cincinnati Major League Soccer player also believes this could be the breakout game for West Ham striker Michail Antonio, who is yet to find the back of the net for the Reggae Boyz in the tournament.

"Antonio could be the man for this encounter even though he has not been firing. He has been making the runs and setting up goals, and I think this will be a big game for him," Cummings said.
