The final of the Jamaica Energy Partners (JEP) St Catherine 40-over cricket competition is shaping up to be a cracking affair following the wrapping up of the semi-finals last weekend.

At Port Esquivel, Old Harbour carved out a comfortable seven-wicket win over Victorian Eagles, who batted first and were restricted to 82. Rohan Francis bagged an impressive five-wicket haul.

Francis finished with five wickets for eight runs, as he, Okieth Broderick and Deron Royal did the damage for Old Harbour with the ball.

Broderick ended with three wickets for 27 runs, while Royal picked up two wickets for 12 runs, despite 28 from Jerome Hamilton and 13 from Richard Johnson.

Damion Wolliston hit 40, while Erron Downer made 21 not out in Old Harbour's reply of 86 for three in 15.4 overs.

Schoolboy Tavar Powell was also at the crease when Old Harbour sealed victory as he made 12 not out.

In the other semi-final in Portmore, hosts Bridgeport sealed a six-wicket win over Basement, who placed 164 runs on the board batting first.

Joel Mills top scored with 31, while Anthony McLean made 30 against four wickets for 63 runs from Kern Duckett.

Oshane Baugh hit an impressive 82 to lead Bridgeport to a successful run chase, as they made 167 for four. Junior Morrison also had a helpful contribution as he made 32, while Dwayne Guthrie chipped in with 23 not out.

The final is set to be played on July 23 at a venue to be announced.
