President Robinson pleased with local talent
Netball Jamaica President Tricia Robinson is praising the standard of play and the continued development of netball locally, with the island having a fair share of enthralling action on the courts, after the culmination of the Supreme Ventures Netball League's Major and Minor Leagues finals.
"The Netball League finals have been an exhilarating showcase of talent, passion, and sportsmanship. I am incredibly proud of all the teams that participated. We remain committed to nurturing and elevating the sport by providing more opportunities for the netball community to shine and thrive," said Robinson.
Upsetters A emerged as the Major League champions following a nail-biting 37-33 final win over Jamalco at the Leila Robinson Courts. Sabrina Spence emerged as a standout performer for Upsetters A, with a shooting accuracy of 28 goals from 37 attempts.
Paula Thompson was in scintillating form, putting in a workmanlike performance to cop the MVP award.
In the Minor League final, Speg B squared off with Ravens B, with the latter emerging victorious 34-26.
Kelly-Ann Hunter led the charge for Ravens B, showcasing her exceptional shooting skills by securing 31 goals from 34 attempts. Tanice Green of Ravens B was awarded the MVP title for outstanding performance throughout the match.
Supreme Ventures Limited Communications and PR Manager Chloleen Daley-Muschett was satisfied with the quality of the finals.
