Glenmuir High School players celebrate one of the five goals they scored in a 5-1 win over Central High in their ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup encounter at Glenmuir on Saturday.

Annotto Bay High maintained their perfect start to this year's schoolboy ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup football competition by securing a narrow 3-2 win over St Mary High yesterday in the only Zone I fixture at the Highgate Community Centre.

The win, the third in a row for Annotto Bay, saw them take command of the group with nine points. St Mary's second loss in three games has them in fifth place on three points.

Meanwhile, some exciting contests highlight today's round of matches with a mouthwatering Zone J clash, which features leaders Dinthill Technical travelling to face second-place Charlemont.

Dinthill will start as favourites after bagging nine goals in their two wins so far, while Charlemont have scored two goals in their lone win over Ewarton.

Zone L will also be cast in the limelight as last year's beaten finalist Central High, who are in third position in the standings, will be looking to shrug off their 5-1 defeat to leaders Glenmuir when they face second-place Denbigh High, who are brimming with confidence after their 18-0 hammering of Porus High in their opening fixture.

Central High head coach Jermaine Douglas says his troops are motivated despite the loss to Glenmuir.

"Up until the end of the Glenmuir game, we were still creating chances, but we were not putting them away. We have to put our chances away against Denbigh, and I know we will rebound," Douglas said.

Leaders Glenmuir are expected to have a field day when they welcome a demoralised Porus.

Elsewhere, former champions and Zone B leaders Rusea's will be hunting for their third win on the trot when they travel to third-place Merlene Ottey, who are coming off a 4-0 win over Cambridge High in their last encounter.

Zone G leaders Knox College are also keen to keep their 100 per cent win record intact when they square off with third-place Christiana.
