St James hold Irwin in daCosta Cup

Irwin High missed an opportunity to join leaders Cornwall College atop Zone A in the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup after they were held to a 1-1 draw by St James High yesterday.

The point sees Irwin on eight points in second place, two behind leaders Cornwall College. St James, drawing their second straight match, sit in fourth place in the group with five points.

Meanwhile, today's fixtures will see Zone C leaders York Castle High on 10 points, taking on third-place Ocho Rios High, who have six points from their three games.

Cedric Titus High, who are in second place in the zone with nine points, will square off with sixth-place Aabuthnott Gallimore High, who have three points from three games.

Elsewhere, Zone D leaders Manning's School, on seven points, will look to secure their third win when they take on last-place Knockalva High, who have three points. Second-place Petersfield High, on six points, will tackle third-place Black River on four points.

Over in Zone E, BB Coke High will be on the hunt to secure their fourth straight win when they face seventh-place Newell, who have lost three games on the trot.

Third-place Munro College will be keen to inflict more misery on Roger Clarke High, who have lost all four games while conceding 26 goals.

Zone F leaders Manchester High will be gunning for their fifth straight win when they travel to second-place unbeaten Belair, who will also be keen to seal their fourth win. In the other Zone F clash, Mount St Joseph High oppose Cross Keys High.

A top-of-the-table Zone G clash looms with leaders Bellefield High visiting second-place Knox College while third-place Mile Gully High entertain fourth-place Holmwood Technical High.

The mouth-watering Zone H clash is expected to garner the most interest, with leaders Clarendon College and Edwin Allen High squaring off. Both are on nine points.

Another crowd-pleaser is expected to come from the Zone L encounter between leaders Glenmuir High and second-place Denbigh High, who have the competition's leading goalscorer in Dunsting Cohen.
