A lethargic Humble Lion, following a long two-week lay-off, had to share the points with Molynes United after a 1-1 draw in their Jamaica Premier League encounter at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon yesterday.

Karim Bryan put Humble Lion in front in minute 27 after he headed home from close range, following good work down the left flank orchestrated by the diminutive Jardel Williams.

The goal seemed to have comforted Humble Lion, and Molynes eventually got into their own and started to take control of the encounter.

It would be a matter of time before the visitors got the equaliser as captain Jason Wright levelled the scoring in the 39th minute after finishing some good work inside the area by Shamaro Dennis.

The displeasure from the home fans with the ageing Humble Lions unit didn't seem to perturb the coaching staff, who persisted with the starting team for much of the second half. Molynes kept pressing and looked more purposeful for the remainder of the encounter.

There were no more goals, and the teams had to share the points, to the delight of the travelling Molynes and their coach, Alex Thomas.

"We are very pleased with this point after losing our second game against Arnett Gardens, but our guys showed a workmanlike attitude, which is what I want to see from my players all season," said Thomas.

Humble Lion's coach, Andrew Price, believes the lengthy lay-off, because of the international break, showed in their performance, despite the hosts asserting themselves early and getting the go-ahead goal.

"We were a bit rusty today as we haven't played in 14 days. We started well, but as the game went on, you could see the ring rust was showing. We got some opportunities to take the game by the scruff of the neck, but we got a point, and we have to work from there," said Price.
