Jerome Waite appointed U20 Boyz head coach
Jerome Waite, head coach of Jamaica Premier League club Tivoli Gardens, has been chosen to replace John Wall as the head coach for the under-20 Reggae Boyz squad.
Wall, who led the team for the past year, has been recalled from the assignment by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
According to a press release from the JFF, Wall will now be focusing on his role in assistant head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson as the senior men's team prepare for their Nations League semi-finals fixture against the USA later this month.
"The Jamaica Football Federation has decided to recall coach John Wall from duties with the U20 team so he can better concentrate on assisting coach Hallgrimsson in preparing the Senior Men's National Team for the numerous competitions ahead," their official statement read.
Waite will bring to the position a wealth of experience as he has prior experience at the under-20, under-23 and the senior level.
Waite's first assignment in charge of the under-20 Boyz will be the upcoming Concacaf Men's Under-20 Championships in June. The championship will be hosted in Guanajato, Mexico with the group draw set for April.
