Reigning 100 and 200 metres World Championships winner Noah Lyles has been confirmed to compete at the Racers Grand Prix, which was announced earlier today at the event's launch at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

Lyles headlines a stacked list of competitors for the upcoming track meet scheduled for June 1 at the National Stadium.

Lyles previously competed at last year's staging where he won the men's 200 metres in a meet record of 19.67 seconds ahead of Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes, who clocked 20.14 and Jamaican Rasheed Dwyer with 20.53.

This time around, Lyles will line up in the men's 100 metres, where he will face the Jamaican pair of Oblique Seville and Kadrian Godson, who have also been confirmed as competitors.

Also in the blocks will be Hughes, Canada's Aaron Brown and United States of America's Kendal Williams, in what is expected to be a competitive event.

Chairman of the Racers Grand Prix organising committee Glen Mills anticipates an exciting show for the fans.

"This year, the spotlight will be on the men's 100 metres. Jamaica will see three of the top competitors from last year's World Championships," Mills said. "This is going to be a real stellar competition."

Other notable competitors booked for the Racers Grand Prix include reigning 400 metres World Championships winner Antonio Watson, World Championships 400 metres hurdles finalist Roshawn Clarke and rising sensation in the triple jump Jaydon Hibbert.
