ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):

Organisers of the ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup announced yesterday that match tickets can be bought from box offices this week in the host territories in the Caribbean.

According to a news release, box offices will open their doors from Thursday until the end of the event across the six host territories in the Caribbean in celebration of 30 days to go to the start of the global showpiece in June, and the launch of the official anthem.

"With just over 30 days to the start of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, the opening of the ticket box offices in the West Indies from May 2 will mark a pivotal moment in our journey to delivering an out-of-this-world experience for all fans," tournament director Fawwaz Baksh said.

The box office locations are the Antigua Recreation Ground in Antigua, Kensington Oval in Barbados, Guyana Cricket Board office in Guyana, Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in St Lucia, the Commercial Centre in St Vincent, and the Queen's Park Oval and National Cricket Centre in Trinidad and Tobago.

"The opening of box offices also underscores our commitment to ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all West Indians, who are passionate followers of the game," Baksh added. "Their presence in the stadiums will energise players, entertain fans and viewers, and show the world a cricketing spectacle, which can only be experienced in the Caribbean."

Tickets for 39 of the 55 World Cup matches, which are to be hosted in the Caribbean, will be available with prices starting from as low as US$6 for selected matches, and purchasers can choose from five ticket categories - premium, standard plus, standard, grounds and mounds, and party stand.
