Reappointed Reggae Girlz head coach Hubert Busby Jr says the sexual misconduct allegations which led to his suspension from the programme in 2021 was a very difficult period in his life and it was the overwhelming support that he received which kept him going.

However, Busby, who was cleared of all allegations, said it was all a part of God's plan and that he never lost faith.

"I wish it on no one, but it is the past. I have said it was not my plan but God's plan. Sometimes you just have to have faith and see things through," he said at a Jamaica Football Federation press briefing on Wednesday.

He revealed that he never said anything publicly on the matter, out of respect for the process and those involved.

"I have never come out publicly and said anything, and that is because I also wanted to respect the process and respect those involved with it.

"It was a difficult time but it is in the past and it is important now to turn that page and sit in front of you knowing that the vindication is there.

"And, more importantly, knowing that, through this process I have had tremendous support from the former ambassador (Cedella Marley), her foundation, the coaching staff and the players, and that was very important," he stated.

He added that his intention now is to move forward and do the best he can to help take the senior Reggae Girlz to the next level.

"Now that we have all turned a page and have all moved on, I think it is important that we forge ahead into what is going to be a bright future for this programme.

"A platform has been set and I have acknowledged all the people who have gone ahead and done it from before. I am a caretaker in this job and, when I was not in the job, I was providing support and doing what I can.

"I just want to continue to do the best I can, surround myself with the best staff that I possibly can, and provide the environment for all these players and those who want Jamaica to have the best opportunity to do so," he said.
