Bank on Magnificent Force in Race 2

VICTORIA'S MEDALLION popped up at 9-1 last Saturday, taking out most Reggae 6 bets, an event in which 8-5 favourite RUM WITH ME, widely used as a banker, finished eighth of 14 runners in a telling reminder, never trust horses tumbling down the claiming ladder.

On paper, this week's Reggae 6 appears to have tailor-made bankers but it's best to avoid tripping at the first hurdle by using MANNY SLAM and LAMBO GIRL, who were both outclassed by PASSWORD at four furlongs straight on last.

United States-bred MAGNIFICENT FORCE appears the only banker worth risking it all for, a standout in the second event at six and a half furlongs after chasing home impressive SHE'S THAT GIRL at six furlongs on June 8. SHE'S THAT GIRL crippled the field with an opening quarter of 22.3, confirmed by the new electronic-timing system, a pace that only MAGNIFICENT FORCE was able to follow.

ROSETTA appears the likely horse in the third but RICHES TO RAG could close on a collapsing pace set up by fellow American CLEOPATRA QUEEN. ROSETTA and RICHES TO RAG deserve being used on all Reggae 6 bets.

Similarly, stablemates GRECIAN LIGHT and KEM, who finished in that order on last, should dominate the fourth event at seven furlongs. GRECIAN LIGHT had to pull out all the stops to catch KEM at the exact trip on Labour Day, making the local-bred a must-use in the rematch.

EMPEROROFTHECATS is the course specialist and class act in the fifth at five furlongs straight. However, since beating POWER RANKING on a $1 million tag at the distance, he has not been seen at exercise.

Though EMPEROROFTHECATS is reportedly swimming at sea, it is advised to have POWER RANKING on all bets as the next-best runner in the event.

PHAROAH IT IS appears a tempting banker in the closer. However, CONUNDRUM and MUSKETOON must be given consideration at six and a half furlongs.
