Reggae 6 a knotty affair

THROW the kitchen sink at Sunday's Reggae 6 opener, a miserable six-and-a-half-furlong event for senior non-winners of three races, technically five-year-olds, who have won, on average, two races per year since turning three.

Frequent table-turners, runners at the level can never be trusted, especially on quick turnarounds, suggesting they are often sore every other race. As such, ensure the opening race doesn't prove to be a water obstacle by approaching the event with a six-shooter - JUST MOVE IN, GENERAL CHIEF, WHO DONEIT, MILLINIUM STAR, SNEAKY JOE and MUZZO.

Tone things down in the second by going with horses proven on the round course, ESUSE ME GOODBY and NOBLE IMPULSE at five furlongs round, as opposed to straight-course specialist STANISLAUS.

Similar to the Reggae 6 opener, the third event at five and a half furlongs for 400,000 claimers is a potential minefield in which DODGE THIS LINK could come alive against SILVER FOX, PHAROAH IT IS and STICKYDON, who is known to throw a surprise or two with no indication of form.

Maidens, three-year-olds, are similarly not to be trusted late in the season after being exposed for most of the year, making the fourth a toss-up among TIFFANY BLU, CHINITA ESTRELLA and RUBY'S LIGHT at six furlongs.

The fillies-only Titania Trophy should be won by IMMEASURABLE JOY, an in-utero, who has been running creditably against colts and geldings at various trips, winning at seven furlongs on Derby Day. Beaten by stablemates QUEEN OF SOUL and SUPREMASI in follow-up races, IMMEASURABLE JOY is a live banker at five and a half furlongs.

Close those bets by trusting the track bias at five furlongs straight. PRINCESS AKILAH, UNCLE NUB and DIGITAL LIGHT should fight out the event on the stands' side.
