D-day in daCosta Cup

It's a case of win or go home for some big teams, including defending champions Clarendon College and many-time champions Cornwall College, when the second round of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup football competition resumes today with nine matches across the island.
In the west, Cornwall College will face an eliminated Spot Valley - who are yet to secure a win - when they play at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay at 3 p.m. The Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore coached Cornwall will go into this encounter knowing that they need three points as any other result could find them out of the competition. Only the top two will advance from the group. Those spots are currently held by Kemps Hill and Rusea's High, who have four points apiece.
Cornwall, who drew with both Kemps Hill and Rusea's High, are on two points in Group One and will need an extra effort from 14-year-old Carlando Morris, their top-scorer with seven goals, captain Deshaun Talbert and Dante Escoffery to keep them alive.
Kemps Hill are Group One leaders and will face Rusea's High at Foga Road High at 3 p.m. Demar Sailsman, Rusea's leading marksman with nine goals, will have to give a much better performance than he did on Saturday to lead his team to victory.
Group Seven leaders Glenmuir advanced to the round of 16 after winning both of their opening games. They have six points, and will play their final group game against Paul Bogle High at Glenmuir playing field.
After a comeback 3-1 win over Paul Bogle on Saturday, defending champions Clarendon College are third in Group Seven and need three points from winless Titchfield High at Wembley Centre of Excellence to be certain of advancing. Both Clarendon and Paul Bogle have three points, but Paul Bogle High have a superior goal difference.
In Westmoreland, an interesting matchup looms, with The Manning's School - third on three points - facing Group Three leaders St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) at The Manning's School at 3 p.m.
STETHS, with a better goal difference, are tied with Manchester High on four points. Manchester will face a winless William Knibb at Manchester High School.
In their opening match last Wednesday, Manchester emerged with a 1-0 over Manning's School and drew 0-0 against STETHS on Saturday.
