Corinaldi Avenue Primary School will seek to defend both their Insports St James netball and football titles, when they play Howard Cooke in the football championship and Chetwood in the netball final today.

The netball decider is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., at the Montego Bay Cricket Club, while the football final is set for the Mount Salem Mini-Stadium, starting at 10 30 a.m.

In Wednesday's semi-finals, Corinaldi defeated Chetwood 1-0 with Omario Morgan getting the winner. Howard Cooke defeated Barracks Road by the same score with a Xahaire Steele goal.

Corinaldi coach Ricardo Esmie said it's good to be back in the final for a fifth successive time, and believes they are ready to defend their crown.

"I feel good knowing we are in the final for the fifth time and looking for our fifth trophy.

"The players have to be physically and mentally ready, so they can take on the task, but we are looking forward to meeting Howard Cooke," he stated.

Delano Brown, coach of Howard Cooke, said his players surprised him by reaching the final and he wants them to go out and enjoy the occasion.

"Thank God for the organisers, who at least made a push for the teams to enjoy themselves, after the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

"Some of the players, even the opponents, this is the only thing they have to look forward to and to enjoy. We didn't expect much of the team this year. We just wanted them to play and have fun.

"So, to be in the final is a joy and we are coming to do our best and have fun," he said.

In the netball semi-finals, Corinaldi blew away Flankers 22-4 to book their place in today's final, while Chetwood stopped Mount Salem 8-5 to secure their berth.

Defending champions Corinaldi will start favourites for the game.
