SunCity Campus Invasion is a go!
SunCity 104.9 FM successfully completed their first Campus Invasion in November 2014 as a part of their youth month celebration. This year, the radio station will be embarking on their second invasion visiting several selected institutions across St Catherine, Kingston and St Andrew.
Steve Billings, the CEO of SunCity 104.9 FM, said: "This year is going to be epic! We have several giveaways and special performers for each campus visit. Last year was good, but this year will be even better".
The SunCity Campus Invasion Tour is aimed at speaking to the importance of the dollar under the theme 'Every Dollar makes Sense'. The campaign is aimed at encouraging financial responsibility among tertiary level students. "We selected this theme based on the present status of the Jamaican dollar, and the difficulties several Jamaicans face in obtaining a job after leaving these tertiary institutions" said Billings.
Additionally, SunCity will be hosting a number of outside broadcasts while conducting interviews with students and lecturers about campus life, and the importance of completing a tertiary level degree especially among young men.
Kurt Matthews, strategic marketing manager at SunCity, shared: "We will also have performers as motivational speakers to encourage positive attitudes towards school as well as to add entertainment value. These activities have proved successful in last year's campaign, and we are eagerly awaiting the start of this year's initiative."
SunCity 104.9 FM based in Portmore, St Catherine, is ranked among the fastest growing radios regionally with high listenership in St Catherine, Kingston and St Andrew. The SunCity Campus Invasion will be from November 4 to 26. Institutions to be visited include The University of The West Indies, The University of Technology, International University of the Caribbean, The G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport, Caribbean Maritime Institute and Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts.
