Rygin King, Teejay and Govana lead the pack at GT Taylor show

It was all musical excitement in the wee hours of Wednesday morning when the red-hot trio of Rygin King, Teejay and Govana, alongside the veteran Beenie Man, created a lyrical firestorm to end the 2018 edition of the GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza in a blaze of glory at the Luana Sports Complex in St Elizabeth.

While some of the advertised acts did not show, the early pace was set by the likes of the veterans Leroy Sibbles and Ken Boothe, Turbulence and Wayne Marshall, who could do no wrong when he sang Glory To God.

The dapper Ken Boothe was pleasing as he was as crisp as a compact disc in reeling off a string of his hits. In a well-received performance, Leroy Sibbles brought a sober tone to the event when he made an impassioned plea for peace going into 2019.

With the early acts putting the patrons in a singing and dancing mood, the mid-way tempo was kept very high by Lybran, the 'Rum Boss,' who left his mark on the event, putting the patrons in 'lyrical stitches' with his stage antics.

Lybran's comedy was followed by the expert musical executions from Grammy nominee Etana, the awesome Agent Sasco and singer J. Like Etana, Agent Sasco was impressive, seemingly able to give the patrons what they wanted.

The calm before the final storm came after Vershon's performance when Govana took the stage. He was later joined by Teejay and Rygin King. Together, the trio spared no one, as they had the venue under musical siege with their hits.

With the police on the location to enforce the 4 a.m. cut-off time, Rygin King introduced Beenie Man, who joined the musical assault. He was so enticingly pleasing and he somehow managed to get a few extra minutes from the police.
