Iba MaHr says he feels blessed to give back - Artiste launches 5th anniversary of charity show

Iba MaHr and his Harar Music Group are again committing to giving back to the Linstead Hospital for the fifth consecutive year with the official launch of the Tru Juice Sound Di Alarm Music Festival on Wednesday at the medical facility.

The festival, staged at the Dinthill Technical high school in St Catherine, is held annually on New Year's Eve, December 31.

A plethora of formidable artistes are expected to touch the stage later this year as they show support for Iba MaHr's vision to help the hospital and the St Catherine community at large.

In a release sent to THE STAR, the entertainer said that he felt blessed to be able to assist in making the medical facility more comfortable for patients.

"The team and I feel blessed to have been able to carry out several projects at the hospital since we launched five years ago, including building the corridor that linked two buildings on the hospital ground for patients to be safely carried back and forth," he said. "Most importantly, we have been able to contribute over $1 million dollar in cash and kind so far. Sound Di Alarm continues to grow and be successful because at its core is the goodness of the people."

At the event, Iba MaHr handed over half a million dollars to the hospital to continue much-needed work at the facility. Chief executive officer of the Linstead Hospital Paul McIntyre expressed heartfelt gratitude to Iba Ma hr for his donations. He said that in addition to money, the artiste has given freely of his time, having carried out works on the hospital grounds last Labour Day.

The Tru Juice Sound Di Alarm Music festival will see performances from the likes of Popcaan, Bugle, Kabaka Pyramid, Iba MaHr, Jesse Royal, Capleton, and more.
