Kahsion wants to lift Mandeville musically

Kemarly Thomas, who goes by the stage name Kahsion, (pronounced 'Caution'), is on a mission to bring Mandeville back on the map musically.

Even though he is originally from Kingston, he has made Manchester his home for more than a decade.

Manchester natives like Tony Rebel and the late Garnet Silk are a few of the artistes that stand out in his memory, and Kahsion wants to add to this legacy.

"It's a while since Mandeville has an artiste that has a major impact on the local music industry and I will lead the charge to change that," he told THE STAR.

Kahsion strongly believes in unity in the music industry and has a song titled Family that speaks on that topic.

"The song is based on a real story, where my friends turned into my enemies. We just have to be careful who we call friends, as some will hurt you, while others build you," he said.

He stressed that the song is getting a buzz on the streets, social media, and on radio stations.

"The unity in the music industry, it's not there like first time. I don't have anything against anyone, and my team, World Bank, a try build back the unity between artistes and selectors in Mandeville, as it has broken down over time. Me like the love MoBay artistes are showing each other, and I just want the Mandeville artistes to show that type of love and to uplift the music," he said.

Family is produced by Daino Music Records. Kahsion is looking to release multiple songs during 2020 as he seeks to cement a spot in the local dancehall industry.
