Occasionally, a new artiste emerges on the dancehall scene with a unique spark signalling the rise of extraordinary newness. The emerging star Dee Dre is one such person.

Under the tutelage of dancehall veteran Aidonia, the young musician is determined to Go Hard -- just like the title of his latest single, featuring the legendary deejay.

THE STAR caught up with a very overjoyed Dee Dre at Soundcheck, held last Thursday night at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew. Following the triumphant success of his recent collaboration with Aidonia, Dee Dre expressed his sincere appreciation for the chance to work directly with an artiste he has long admired.

"Always a great joy, you know, because he's an inspiration of mine," Dee Dre shared. "So, being able to now work so closely with him is a joy."

Go Hard (Live Life), his most recent hit, wasn't originally meant to be a collaboration, but destiny had other ideas. What began as a straightforward plea for Aidonia's opinion swiftly evolved into a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

"I created the song and asked big bro for his opinion," Dee Dre explained. "And in the process of him giving his opinion, he liked it that much, he said, 'Yo, full time now, time fi do road. I'm going to put my verse on this, to help push this song forward.' And he did exactly that."

The song has gained traction since Aidonia co-signed it, attracting a new fan base and providing Dee Dre with the recognition he has long sought.

For the better part of five years, Dee Dre has been working hard in the music industry and his artistry, developing his sound and discovering his voice. He admits that Go Hard (Live Life) is his biggest break to date, despite the fact that he has previously released singles.

"I've had singles before this one, but this is on another level for obvious reasons -- featuring Aidonia. You know, Aidonia doesn't do a lot of collaborations, so I'm very grateful for that."

The music industry is no easy road, but Dee Dre is taking it all in stride, seeing challenges as a fuel for creativity rather than obstacles.

"The music industry has been treating me fair, you know. It's not an easy road, but I'm grateful for what is happening. It's growing. It's not stagnant. We face challenges, but we put that in our music and it inspires us to create other songs. So we've been working."

With two albums already recorded, Dee Dre and his team are taking a very calculated approach, deliberately choosing songs to gain momentum before releasing a full project.

"We have a lot of singles coming," he revealed. "We actually have two complete albums, but we're just still recording and figuring out the next best single. So we're working with a lot of different producers, and so on."

When asked about future collaborative projects, the emerging talent hinted at another significant partnership, this one masterminded by Aidonia himself.

"There's definitely more, but there's this significant one that Aidonia orchestrated. So big up big bro every time."

Dee Dre remained tight-lipped about the details of the collaboration, stating, "We don't want to speak on it right this very moment, but there's definitely another one. Just please look out for it."
