After toiling in the music business for more than two decades, reggae artiste Singing Bird is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

"It's been a long time since I've been trying to get a break in the music, and it hasn't been easy. No matter how much talent you have, if you don't have the right team, you're not going to make it. My first official single, a track titled Mama was released in 2006 on the Q45 Label. After that, I recorded songs for many other producers, but nothing much happened. Despite the lack of success, I kept recording and performing because I knew that one day I'd find the right producer to work with," said Singing Bird, whose given name is Everton Davis.

The Kingston 13-born singer, who recently signed to King Shiloh Entertainment, is currently enjoying much attention with two new singles, I'm Not A Perfect Man, which was originally done by US R&B singer Christopher Williams, and I Keep Holding, a song by the British band Simply Red.

Both songs were produced by Bertram Burgher and released on the King Shiloh label late last year. Since then, they have been receiving strong rotation, both locally and overseas.

"It's the first time in my career that I've ever received so much airplay and exposure in the media. I am grateful to all the DJs who are playing my songs. I'm also grateful to my producer and manager, King Shiloh (Burgher), for recognising my talent and believing in me," he said. Singing Bird also revealed that he plans to release his debut EP later this year.
