George Henry Antonique Henry penitently awaits her covenant baptism from Bishop Donald Dawson (left), assisted by Officer Glendon McDonald at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God.

Sunday, November 8, 2015, was a day set aside for baptism in all branches of the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica and The Cayman Islands.

Scores of candidates were baptised, some for the first time, while others were rebaptised as covenant baptism. Several persons took their covenant baptism at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church in Clarendon. Among them was young church sister Antonique Henry.

"On that specific day, I had no intentions of being baptised because I was baptised 10 years ago at the age of nine and I did not backslide. The 10 years were not all perfect because I'm only human, but I never turned my back on God. While standing during the baptism service, there was this still, small voice telling me that I should get my covenant baptism and I was there ignoring the voice. Then the voice came back to me forcefully, and that's when I finally decided that it was time to get my covenant baptism," shared the young Christian.

She noted that being saved and baptised was an awesome feeling, adding that it was the best decision she had ever made as she has no regrets.

Henry shared that being saved and baptised made her profoundly confident that she had divine coverage from the enemy because she was comprehensively protected and sheltered by God Almighty.

She noted that there was nothing more important than knowing that she had someone (God) to whom she could always look for her strength, especially because He promised that He would never forsake her.

"I don't think there are enough words to really express how I feel about God! My love for Him is unconditional. I see God as my closest friend because I can look to Him anytime because He is never too busy for me. He keeps all His promises and never goes back on His word.

"This Christian pathway is not an easy task because no one is perfect, but I have a made up mind that through the good and bad times, I will stay on this pathway because at the end of the day, I want to make heaven my home," testified Henry.

In her words of encouragement for non-Christians, Henry called on them to seek the Lord while they had the chance because according to her, "This minute, we might be here and in the space of a second, we can be gone forever."

Henry further shared that time waited on no man and that it would be sad to spend eternity in hell. She pointed out that life with Christ was the best life anyone could live because Christ said in his word that we should seek him first and his righteousness and everything we need would be given to us if we put all our faith and trust in him.
