Fun Facts about SPICE

Our STAR of the month, Spice, has been in the music industry for more than 10 years and has established herself as one of the best lyricists in the dancehall fraternity.

Onstage, she is known for her 'rude gyal' delivery, but here are some fun facts about Spice that you may not have known.

1. She hails from the Old Braeton community in St Catherine and used to attend the St Catherine High School.

2. While in high school, Spice realised her love for music and started out singing. She was a frequent participant in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) music festival and won several medals for her participation throughout the years.

3. Before a career in music manifested itself, Spice wanted to pursue a career in accounting.

4. She burst on to the dancehall circuit in 1999 after appearing on a show with MC Nuffy.

5. Her first major appearance on a stage show was at STING in 2000. Her first major hit came in 2006 when she released the single Fight Ova Man.
