Bail extention for man accused of beating babymother's sister
A man accused of beating his babymother's sister had his bail extended when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last week Thursday.
Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is 30-year-old Ricardo Beckford.
Allegations are that on October 6, the accused man used his hand to hit the female complainant in the face, causing bruises and swelling.
It is said the female complainant is the sister of the accused man's babymother.
It is alleged that on the day of the incident, Beckford was involved in a heated argument with his babymother when her sister intervened. This, presumably, resulted in Beckford turning his attention to the sister, hitting her in the face.
In court, the female complainant recounted the alleged events.
"When him box me, him remarks was, 'A long time him want box'," she said.
Resident Magistrate Maxine Ellis ordered Beckford to return to court on November 19 for sentencing. A fingerprint order was also made against him.
